Month-long celebration to include a free trip to Hawaii, iPad giveaways and anniversary party
Bellingham, WA — January 23, 2012 — The Woods Coffee today announced plans for its upcoming 10-year anniversary celebration. The company, which opened its first store on Bender Road in Lynden in February of 2002, has opened 12 coffee shops in Whatcom County over the past decade. Woods’ anniversary celebration includes a month-long promotion in February.
“We want to mark this anniversary in a big way,” said Wes Herman, owner of The Woods Coffee. “We’ll be hosting a lot of fun activities throughout the month that will allow the community to get involved in this celebration. We’ll also be giving away a bunch of really exciting prizes. We want this to be a fun time for the entire community, and we also want to use this milestone as a way to thank everyone who has allowed us to do what we love for the past 10 years.”
As part of the company’s month-long anniversary celebration, Woods Coffee customers will be entered into an end-of-the-month drawing that will include several iPads and a seven-day, six-night trip to Hawaii. Alaska Airlines is partnering with Woods Coffee to offer this Hawaiian trip getaway to a lucky Woods Coffee customer. In addition, the company will be throwing free Woods Coffee parties for a local classroom and a local workplace, as well as offering free coffee for a month for one individual, as part of the company’s Biggest Woods Fan contests. More information on all of these promotions, including how to participate, will be available on The Woods Coffee’s Facebook page.
In addition to these promotions, The Woods Coffee plans to feature a special, limited-edition anniversary blend of coffee for 2012. Woods’ special anniversary blend will be available at all Woods Coffee locations, in both drip coffee and whole bean form, starting in February. Customers will be able to enjoy their anniversary blend in Woods Coffee anniversary mugs, as well, which will be available to purchase for a limited time.
“We work hard to respond to each customer and to provide an experience that makes people want to keep coming back to our coffee shops, but we really do consider ourselves fortunate to have received the kind of support we have from this community,” said Herman.
The Woods Coffee opened three locations in Lynden, Washington, before expanding into Bellingham, where the company now has seven coffee shops. The Woods Coffee also has locations in Ferndale and Birch Bay, bringing its total number of stores to 12. The company’s newest location is inside the Sehome Haggen grocery store, in Bellingham, a first-time partnership between the two Whatcom County brands. Woods currently has plans for several more stores, in Whatcom County and in new areas of Northwest Washington.
“We run coffee shops in one of the most coffee-thirsty parts of the world, and yet The Woods Coffee is regularly voted as one of the favorite coffee shops in our area. That’s something we’re quite proud of,” said Herman. “We hope that 10 years from now we’ll have even more reason to celebrate.”
To cap-off the month-long celebration, The Woods Coffee will be hosting a 10-year anniversary party from its Guide Meridian location in Bellingham on Wednesday, February 29. Guests are invited to come out and meet the Herman family, enjoy food and drink, listen to a free concert and receive prize giveaways. The winner of the Woods’ Hawaiian getaway trip will be drawn and announced at the event, as well (Hawaiian trip winner must be present to win).
