The 12 schools in Ferndale all offer excellent learning opportunities and choices to your children. Along with seven outstanding elementary schools, young Ferndale students can also decide between the private, Whatcom Day Academy or Cornerstone Bilingual Montessori School. At the high school level, students are again offered the choice between Clearview, Ferndale, or Windward High Schools. Five of Ferndale's schools have received National Awards of Excellence, and Ferndale's Native American education program has been recognized nationally by the U.S. Department of Education.

Ferndale is located equal distances from Seattle and Vancouver, British Columbia, just minutes away from the larger city of Bellingham. Ferndale has major potential to grow in the business arena. A Town with a View

Situated between the Pacific Ocean and the Cascade Mountains, Ferndale has a moderate climate with an average rainfall of about 34 inches. The City of Ferndale provides a dozen parks and with the Nooksack River and Mt. Baker so close there is plenty of entertainment right outside your door. Hovander Homestead Park and Pioneer Park are perfect for fun events held year round. A turn-of-the-century park featuring a historic Victorian home, Hovander Homestead hosts the annual Scottish Highland Games and a Civil War Reenactment. Pioneer Park is home to the Old Settlers Picnic and has one of the largest collections of original log homes in the Northwest.
